(Reception and Key Stage 1 may take break of no more than 10 minutes)
The playground is supervised by a teacher before school, from 8.45am. Teachers supervise the morning break and lunchtime supervisors are employed between 12 noon and 1:15pm.
The Nursery runs Morning (8:40-11:40am) and Afternoon (12:30-3:30pm) Sessions.
Children should not arrive before 8.45am, unless under prior arrangement. They should use the appropriate gates for Key Stage One and Two pupils, and parents should use the main entrance at all times. Key Stage One parents are welcome to wait for their children in the playground, but we request that once children are in Key Stage Two their parents should wait outside the gate, so as to avoid congestion.
The registers are kept open for 15 minutes from the beginning of both morning and afternoon sessions. After these times, a child is marked officially absent unless previous notification has been given.
Children who have not been collected by 3.25pm are asked to wait by the School Office for the person collecting them.
Please confirm an absence with a telephone call on the day, by 10am and a subsequent letter on returning to school.

We like to work closely with parents and value theirinput to the school. Our regular newsletters keep parents informed as to what is going on in the school and how they can get involved. We operate an “Open Door Policy” and welcome discussion with parents regarding all aspects of the school. All Saints Benhilton is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. To read our Child Protection Policy and our Safeguarding Statement please see our School Policies page.
At All Saints Benhilton everyone is expected to behave in a responsible manner, to show care, consideration and courtesy towards others and to have respect for property. There is emphasis on praise and encouragement for either individuals or groups of children, in order to foster good relations within the school and to maintain high standards of behaviour. We aim:
Unfortunately there will be occasions when punishment is necessary. This normally takes the form of individual reprimand, withdrawal from an activity or referral to the Head teacher.
Our aim is to encourage a positive attitude to work at school and at home on the part of both parents and children. Parents can do a great deal to support the work of the school by helping to develop their children's vocabulary, number awareness and general knowledge.
Homework is set according to our school policy, available on request, which provides for increased opportunity for out-of-school study as the children progress through the school.
All children are encouraged to read widely at home and will have access to the school library for this purpose. Children throughout the Primary age range should spend some time reading every evening.
